Riley started 1st grade this year! We had a bit of a rocky start, Riley was not as enthusiastic to go to school this year as he was last year. But he seems to have gotten into the groove of the school routine now, although he still misses the bus at least 1-2 times per week (at least we live close to school). At the start of the school year Riley was reading at a level B (a=easiest, c-d typical level for 1st graders) Now just two months later he is reading at a level D and enjoying it! He loves to bring his new books home from school and read to the whole family. Avery loves being read to, Brody is usually too busy to sit down and listen to stories but hopefully still hears them in the background.
September was supposed to be our home improvement month but the weather was not cooperating. We did manage to get a new kitchen/dining room floor put in, a shed put up in back and a some damaged siding pieces repaired. We still have to paint the outside of the house and fix the deck. We took the house off the market for now and after we "fix it up" a bit we can manage to stay here another year or so.
When Riley first started school, the twins had to wear their backpacks everyday to the bus stop also. Now Riley races to the bus stop with either Dan or I or by himself.
